“What is wrong” would be too easy.

Personally, I can only identify one right thing, which is that the 911 has Martini stripes and rally lights. Everything else is wrong.

Well, the front car is a Citroën. That means that it will at all times be both right and wrong.

Except that it’s been modified to remove all the “right”

I see an old Citroen modified for racing. It all looks good to me.

What if I showed you this view and told you it was RWD?

I think it looks lumpy. I am ok with it being RWD. Should it not be RWD?

Well, everyone’s mileage varies, but for me, absolutely no it shouldn’t.

FWD is the single most defining feature of these: they’re even known as the Traction Avant (=FWD) fergossake. If you take that away you’ve just got a random old car body shell to start hacking up for your build, so start with something less iconic and more common. Not to mention I bet the build deleted most of the other amazing technical innovations the Traction had.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not an originality nazi. I’d love to see one of these raced or restomodded. Just not with its heart torn out.

Plus that front is fugly :-(

What if it was a rescue? The car was trashed, say it had no drive train, or had a fire? Or simply neglected to the point that it was so far gone it wasn’t possible, let alone easy, to restore it to original? I’m just happy its on the road, sacrilegious as it is.

Like I said, everyone’s mileage varies. If it’s being used a racecar, the body wasn’t too far gone though, and everything else is more or less recoverable. And if not, get creative and stick a rear-engined drivetrain of some sort in the front: or anything else like as long as it stays true to the spirit! SBC and live axle is the antithesis of Citroen.
